Lexington and Concord
The patriot’s militia was suspected of storing weapons in Concord, Massachusetts. The British army marched from Boston to Concord to take the weapons, but Paul Revere and William Dawes rode to Lexington to warn them. The British finally reached Lexington but the minutemen were waiting and people started firing at each other. It is known as the “The shot heard ‘round the world”. This is the first time that the colonists stood up to the British in armed forces. This marks the first battle of the American Revolution.
